Changsha Valve Works is a leading manufacturer of large diameter hydraulic actuated butterfly valves for thermo-power and hydro-power plants, water distribution projects and water works projects in China. [ more ]

Met-Pro Corp. (MPR) announced that the Company's Duall Division, in Owosso, Michigan has received an order valued in excess of $800,000 to supply three (3) aeration systems, complete with Duall scrubbers and fans, to a municipal water treatment facility in the Southeast United States. The order is expected to ship in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year ending January 31, 2007.

The aeration systems are designed to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) dissolved gases from contaminated groundwater as part of the process designed to make the groundwater suitable for public use. Each aerator is designed to treat 6 million gallons per day. All equipment will be constructed of Duall's unique NSF approved DUALLast(TM) fiberglass reinforced plastic with thermoplastic inner liner and will be fabricated in Duall's Owosso, Michigan manufacturing facility. Oil dominates the world economy. But get ready. There's a new liquid in town -- one that could prove to be an equally potent source of both geopolitical conflict and entrepreneurial activity.

By 2025, water will become the most serious resource problem in the world economy, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. The problems are twofold, researchers say.

First, the supply of water and the demand for it are rarely in the same place. For example, China has about 21 percent of the world's population but only 7 percent of its water.

Second, an astonishingly small amount of the world's water is actually usable. Water pollution is already the single largest cause of sickness and death worldwide. Indeed, CSIS's Global Strategy Institute says if all the water on Earth were compressed to a single gallon, only four ounces would be fresh water. Of that four ounces, only two drops would be readily accessible. [ more ]

Pentair Inc. (PNR) announced that it has acquired the assets of Krystil Klear, a privately held company, to complement existing businesses in its Water Group.

Krystil Klear expands Pentair's industrial filtration product offering to include a broad range of steel and stainless steel housing and filtration solutions. Pentair's filtration business serves the residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial markets with filtration housings, cartridge elements, tanks, valves, and other filtration system components. (UCSY.OB) subsidiary Air Water Corporation & Atmospheric Water Technologies Inc., company president Michael Zwebner announced today that the companies have jointly received new orders for more than 1,100 SOHO Machines, for delivery to a number of countries, including Australia, Reunion Island, India and several others in the continent of Africa.
